Placing An Order

How Do I Place An Order?

What Do I Need to Place an Order?

To place an order for prescription glasses, you will need the following:

-An up to date prescription that you can upload to our site.
-You will need to know your Pupillary Distances that you can input at checkout.

Keep in mind that all frame styles have different acceptable ranges for prescriptions and we cannot guarantee that your prescription will be accepted.

Do I Need an Up To Date Prescription?

When it comes to uploading your prescription, it cannot be an expired prescription. All prescriptions must be up to date, or they will be rejected once they are sent to our eyewear partner.

We highly recommend getting your eyes tested before getting a new pair of prescription glasses. This can be done by heading to your local eye doctor for an eye exam, or even online via a few different websites that offer virtual eye exams.

Are There Limits To What Prescriptions You Can Accept?

We accept single-vision prescriptions with Spherical ranges from +3.00 to -6.00 and Cylinder ranges up to +/-4.00.

Do You Accept FSA/HSA For Rx/Prescription?

This is a great question - At the moment we do not accept FSA payments on our website for prescription glasses.

However, you should be able to your HSA to purchase glasses if you receive a prescription from a doctor. Please make sure to check with your insurance provider / health plan for eligibility on HSA purchases.

You will also need to make sure you keep documentation for your expenses, such as receipts and the details of the transactions. If not, the IRS could deny your tax benefits if there is an audit. Keep in mind that only purchases with a valid prescription will be eligible - sunglasses without a prescription are not eligible for HSA.

What Pupillary Distances (PD) Do You Accept?

If you received one number for your PD, we accept 57-80 (OU; binocular; both eyes). If you were given two numbers for your PD (OD/OS; monocular; right/left), we accept 28-40.

Can You Make a Prescription That Contains Prism?

Yes! We’re able to accommodate prism up to diopter power of 2.0. Be sure to capture this information in your prescription picture!

Do You Submit Insurance Claims For My Prescription Glasses?

At this time, we cannot process your insurance claim online - we apologize for the inconvenience.

I Don’t Have a Copy of My Prescription, Can You Contact My Doctor For a Copy?

Unfortunately, your doctor can only release medical records to you. Please reach out to your prescribing doctor for a copy of your prescription for you to upload!

Why Was My Order Rejected?

Orders will be rejected for a number of reasons which can consist of the following:

  • The prescription is expired (All prescriptions entered must be up to date).
  • Based on the prescription uploaded, we were not able to fulfill what was needed in the frame style selected.
  • Your prescription was outside of the range that is possible with Knockaround frames.

Do You Fulfill International Prescriptions (Rx)?

Unfortuantely we do not fulfill any international prescriptions or ship U.S prescriptions internationally. All prescription orders must be shipped to an address located in the United States.
